Installation of a tool so that prevention agents in the field travelling by motorcycle, on foot or in buses can feed back information:
•Data input in the field on compact semi-hard PDAs
•Integration with Tisséo's GIS
•A colour-coded diagnostic tool is used to ascertain whether the PDA is on "privacy" or whether there are breakdowns on the GSM network
Why I chose Novacom:
The objective was to find a rapid solution to be implemented that could be carried by personnel; it also had to be evolutive to allow the agent to draft his intervention reports live. The specifications to be used were:
•A customised solution at a moderate cost independent of the company's operating system
•A fleet of only 25 PDAs shared by a team of 50 people (the agent identifies himself at the beginning of his mission)
•An ideal complement to the surveillance cameras that monitor the "metro" area.
My ROI:
The return on investment was achieved thanks to the following elements:
•Lower telephone communication costs (no more "state your current location")
•Less fuel consumed by dispatching the agents closest to the incident
•Passenger safety, more likely to use public transport
•Faster resolution of incidents before they get out of control.
